Technical Analyst – Business
Group Technology Services - Development - Maidenhead
An excellent opportunity has arisen in the IT Development team for a Technical Analyst to assist the Technical Architecture team in applying, developing and documenting project requirements and standards across multiple projects. This new role will be within the Technical Architecture team reporting to the Technical Architects and will be responsible for the provision of systems analysis, accurate documentation of high-level architecture, and the development of high-level estimates. The successful applicant can expect to spend a significant proportion of their time liaising with the group businesses and external partners.
Key aspects of the job will include:
Be responsible for documenting high-level architecture of technical solutions, developing and finalising high-level estimates, and tracking architectural project milestones.
Liaising with other Technical Architect team members to ensure business requirements are understood, documented and communicated effectively to the Development Project Team
Work with the Solution Teams and subject matter experts to design and document solutions that are fit for purpose and support business change programmes.
Have a solid understanding of I.T. applications in use, analysis and design strategies. Take these into account for new development requirements.
Mentor project resources on analysis and design concepts.
Assist solutions teams in analysis and documentation of business requirements.
Assist in identification and evaluation of 3rd party tools and applications.
Advise on design standards, guidelines and processes used on projects.
Consult with and assist the developer community in their understanding of business requirements.
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills:
Be aware of the high-level technology roadmap and be able to map business requirements to this.
Operate at the business, application or technical architecture levels (as required) with proven facilitation skills to drive out complete technical solutions and cost estimates to resolve business problems.
Ability to create and manage, activity, sequence and data flow diagrams.
Experience of the project lifecycle from end to end, with excellent functional and technical analysis skills, including an understanding of PRINCE2 methodology.
Be able to inspire and motivate colleagues to achieve the required results.
Have excellent communication (verbal & written) and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Highly reliable, self-motivated and committed to delivering work of the highest standards.
Experience:
Experience of business in the retail sector would be an advantage.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Visio.
