The UK economy shrank by 0.2 per cent in the third quarter as consumers' incomes rose but they saved more, data published on Tuesday showed.
In spite of sharp upward revisions to output from the construction sector and to business investment spending, the data were only slightly changed from the earlier estimate that the economy contracted by 0.3 per cent in the quarter. Read Full Article

Welcome to another newsletter from PSS-Europe.

Christmas has been and gone and at the last check the economy was still in recession, part of this reflects business owners investing less during the downturn. Hopefully the market is just quiet and is waiting to awaken starting with new budgets and new opportunities in 2010.

For those of you who have slightly over done it during the festive season now might be a good time to remind you that PSS-Europe runs generous remuneration scheme for placements made on recommendation. The New Year starts with visiting both current and potential customers and a faint possibility of resurrecting the Respona project. I am in the process of organising a new contract with a technology company in Bracknell, which will be working with a colleague I met on my first assignment at Vodafone. January is going to be busy, especially as I have a long weekend snowboarding booked in Engelberg.

As a separate company project PSS-Europe is developing a new recruitment website using Joomla! content management PSS-Europe Recruitment (don't hold your breath as I am developing this). This will allow you to upload your CV and search though available opportunities and if you are a customer load new recruitment requirements.

If you aren’t familiar with the term, a virtual office is a form of collaboration among self-employed individuals and those who work from home.
