Project Manager – Prototype to pre-production model transport

Location: Loughborough

Salary/Rate: £35-45,000pa

An experienced project manger who has worked in R&D taking large projects (£1m+) from the prototype phase through to pre-production in an engineering/manufacturing environment. The ability to show a broad technical background with exposure to multiple industries would be beneficial. The successful candidate will have an engineering or science degree or similar experience.

The role involves working with Legal, Finance and Strategy teams identifying projects in the transport sector contributing to low emissions and or renewable energy sources where partnering with our client will reduce the time to market. Evidence of substantial experience managing internal and external stakeholders on collaborative projects at senior levels is essential. Responsibility will include contract negotiations with the selected partner company and then ensuring the project is delivered within time, cost and quality parameters.

The role will work closely with Corporate Services for financial, contract and legal and State Aid (public sector sponsored experience will be an advantage). Linking into the Transport Programme Manager and Strategy Manager for specialist input as required. All normal project manager responsibilities apply: plan, budget, stakeholder and supplier management, reporting, communication, influencing and negotiation skills. Specifically strong IT communication, analytical and problem solving skills are required. The successful applicant must be willing to travel within the UK.
