| Deputy Director - Programme Delivery |
Location: Loughborough Salary/Rate: To £84k Plus Benefits
Reporting to the Director of Prgramme Delivery, the Deputy Director – Programme Delivery will be responsible for supporting the initiation and delivery of the client's research and technology programmes.
Working with the Director you will help create the programme delivery systems to deliver the client's mission and outcomes. Working with the Director for Strategy Development and stakeholders in industry, government and academia, the Deputy Director will be responsible for helping to identify and establish new capability delivery routes, and then leading the implementation of these.
Principal Accountabilities
· To work with external research and technology providers to help identify delivery routes and mechanisms which support the client technology strategy.
· To help proactively build external consortia to support programme delivery
· To help secure appropriate funding contributions from programme partners and project consortia members in line with client investment strategies.
· To manage the client programme and project delivery contracts, ensuring that the contract requirements are fulfilled and deliverables met on time and to budget.
· Where appropriate to act as the integration focus for engagement and planning with other major government funding agencies such as the EC, DoE etc.
· Manage staff within the Programme Delivery Team; ensuring team and individual performance management are operating effectively.

The Deputy Director - Programme Delivery will be a key player in ensuring the effectiveness of the Programme Delivery team. You will be part of ensuring the client's programmes of work deliver effectively. This will ensure the highest level of achievement against client's target outcomes of making low carbon technologies available for timely commercialisation coupled with an increased energy skills base.
Qualifications:
- The successful candidate is likely to have Chartered status in engineering or a science discipline
- Relevant engineering/technology degree.
Experience:
- Broad technical background in the application of science, technology or engineering to large scale industry challenges.
- Senior operations experience in managing collaborative Research & Demonstration programmes involving universities, industry and government funders.
- Significant experience communicating with senior board member executives/ stakeholders.
- Tangible and significant evidence of delivering multiple project and programmes.
- Experience operating at a senior level within a commercial environment.
- Excellent written communicator with experience report writing skills.
- Experience of insurance and assuring quality in all aspects of operations.
- Significant experience of health and saftey measures.
- Experience in preparing for and managing internal and external audits.
- Delivery of £10m+ projects within a complex stakeholder environment.
